OK, no posts since the new president took office. Not much to report. A lot of boring economic stuff.

7:59am The voters of Dixville Notch, New Hampshire have gone to the polls and the votes have been counted. Obama 15, McCain 6.

John McCain’s poll numbers leaped today after receiving the endorsement of Vice President Dick Cheney yesterday.
Rick Davis, McCain campaign manager said, “This is the big one. Cheney’s endorsement will put us over the top.”
An Obama spokesperson said, “This is the game-changer. We could lose this, and lose big.”

Sen. Saxby Chambliss of Georgia is warning his supporters in speeches that, ” the other folks are voting”.
He’s referring to the large turnout of black voters in early voting. Frightening Republicans on Halloween.

Republican Congressman Chris Shays, Connecticut co-chair of the McCain campaign, said Sunday:
“He has lost his brand as a maverick; he did not live up to his pledge to fight a clean campaign.”
